A Large Language Model is an AI system trained on vast amounts of text data to understand, generate, and reason about human language. LLMs power chatbots, document analysis, content generation, and code assistance. They can also generate plausible-sounding but incorrect information — hallucination — which is why grounding techniques like RAG are essential in regulated environments.
